The town of Ornamentis is a backwater town run primarily by demi-humans; so far it was away from typical civilization that the only other human in town is a leper named Steve. To its north a prairie of giant toads and to its south a magical forest. The town is run by a noble minotaur named Magnesium Oxhide. A 20 foot wide canal fed by and feeding into Affogato Rivulet provides water for irrigation to Ornamentis Farms and passes through the sawmill at Galssa's Brickyard. Wide, sturdy stone bridges span the canal in over a dozen places; if you can't see one bridge across, you're probably standing on another.
Map Key:
Go & Get It Joint - Cafe run by Dricil (DRIK-il), a faun constantly wired on coffee, an export from the farms of Ornamentis.
Affogato Rivulet - during the spring it runs brown and cream colored with silt.
Ornamentis farms - though 40% of the farm land grows food crops for the town, the rest is a cash crop of coffee plants.
Town Square - there is an annoying town crier named Carl (a centaur) that provides news at almost all hours of the day.
Galssa's Brickyard - Owned by a young adult gnome with impressive tattoos covering her body, the Brickyard stockpiles construction supplies and employs carpenters for building and repairs around town.
Dirty Darebritrud's Discount Emporium - General store that can procure...things.
Bazaar - open air farmers market.
The Thick Sheep Tavern - ye olde titte bar with exotic ladies. There may be a brothel run out of here, or underground milking ring.
The Temple of Tempus- the temple is a rowdy, but utmost holiest place in town. It contains multiple layers and at the bottom an arena is held daily towards the worship of Tempus
TBA
Intravight, Ornamentis Office - Intravight's local office is filled with sales representatives, private security, and a small engineering branch.
The Bank of Ornamentis - Just your typical bank.
In Ornamentis, there are two sides to every coin...er...river. There is the Westbank a middle to lower-class district and there is the Barrow where the snobs of upper-class lives. Materials found on either side of the river can differ drastically, but people from the Barrow rarely mingle for long with the people of Westbank. The only exception to this is at the open air market of the Bazaar where occasionally the upper-class visit for novelty trinkets and food. There is only one way to get from either a bridge that crosses the river next to the town square.
The magical forest to the south of Ornamentis is called the dead hurts...*cough*...Dedhurst Wood. It hides all manner of magical creatures, lost ruins, and beasts from prying eyes. Adventurers can find themselves quickly lost in the woods if not careful. Lucky for them, a few small villages dot the area.
To the north of Ornamentis lies the Magestic Frog Prairie, where the great soil-soul toads roam. It leads to a fantastical kingdom and provides resources to the people of Ornamentis.
