Da Sublot follow four seasoned adventurers: Gadri, Kaga, Panfinas, and Zhai. As they battle epic foe, discover ancient magics, and follow romantic trysts. Our story starts many years after the start of their journey.
Taking a contract from the guild in the city of Bittenicht, home of the largest community of fey creatures in Dawurld. A member of the der Blumenhof fell many years ago, and slowly biding his time he grew ever powerful. Now, Branthas, the Cursed Baron, is becoming more active and der Blumenhof has formed a contract with the guild to stop him.
Our noble adventurers approach Riesenarschberg, the tallest mountain in the Spine of the World. Deep into the mountain they delve, eventually coming upon the hewed tunnel of the Cursed Baron's dungeon.
Quietly they attempted to sneak in but guarding the way were two chimeras, chained to walls of the dungeon entrance room. Fire filling the entrance, the heroes fought on until both laid dead at their feet. Whoever they were facing was powerful indeed to keep such mighty beasts.
The forged on past deadly traps until they reach a lantern of divination. It foretold a heinous future should the fallen fey not be brought to justice.
Finally, they reached a door protected by three riddles:
I'm tall when I'm young, and short when I'm old. What am I?
You walk into a room that contains a match, a kerosene lamp, a candle, and a fireplace. What do you light first.
The more of this there is, the less you see. What is it?
Leading way to the body of a fallen orc, the heroes find a great treasure, an instant fortress , clutched in the deceased adventurer's hands. What else is in store for our intrepid warriors the deeper they go into the Dungeon of the Cursed Baron?
The adventurers continued their push through the dungeon, and they discovered the frigid lair of a hag. Catching her unawares, they pinned the fey creature with an immovable rod. Though she tried to fight despite her handicap, the heroes were able to force her to acquiesce to their questions.
The hag revealed the nature of her plot, to use Branthas, the fallen eladrin hero, as a pawn to disrupt the kingdom of Schwachkopf. Though the hero fell at a border conflict between the fey and the orcs, the hag pulled him from the brink of death and stoked the flames of his hatred for his own kind. Realizing her plans Gadri backed out of his promise to spare her, and they brought an end to the hag.
They traveled further into the dungeon and found a cold fire forge. Within its hearth was a magical arrow, with the term Königsmord, king slayer, imprinted upon it. The magical effects it contains are still unknown though it is in Kaga's inventory.
Finally, they reached the room of the cursed baron Branthas, beyond his hall of gricks. Panfinas pleaded with the once noble hero to see the light and come back to the courts, but Branthas would not hear the gnomes call to redemption. Kaga struck first and slew the eladrin's loyal hounds. Zhai herself was able to restrain the man for the heroes to seize victory.
In the end they took Branthas's life. As the eladrin laid there Panfinas knew what they had to do. He took the body out of Riesenarscheberg, they took proof of the kill for the bounty, and then buried the fallen hero. It was now time for the solemn trip back and recovery of the handsome reward they were so promised.
The adventurers return to the city of Bittenicht and collect their reward. They even find time to relax for the week and ply their trade, but the free time came to an end when the Adventurer's Guild requested an audience with them. Zhai declined as she was attempting to search for something particular.
The others made way to the guild and met with the three heads of the guild, Tranji, Alydove, and Oak. Along the way they met an old friend, Quartzite. Quartzite was visiting Schwachkopf with her friend Armament, a warforged artificer looking to expand it's horizons. They made plans to meet later and the adventurers continued to the masters. Against Tranji's wishes and for Alydove's, the crew decided to meet with the noblewoman who opened the contract against the cursed baron, Branthas, his sister Beraste.
While having drinks with Quartzite and Armament, Gadri was pulled aside by a Gith named Khaloth and "given" information about three nobles that died under mysterious circumstances. They had even more purpose to investigate the noble district.
The next day they got suites and cleaned up. As they bathed in the town pond a procession marched down Konigshaus Row, the ever vigilant Kaga noticed one of knights was eyeing the noble strangely. The heroes followed, and Armament got a stern warning about running along roof tops and causing property damage.
They followed the line all the way to the nobility's apartment complex, hounding the knights from a distance, their eye-baller gave the crew but the briefest glimpse of what lied beneath.
