This campaign was started with the most humorous of intentions. A mad-lib randomly generated campaign world where the dungeon master role can be passed around without fret if the world changes a little here and there. Below was generated from https://donjon.bin.sh/fantasy/adventure/ and only the more specifics like people, places, and things were added to fill in the details. Link here to see what results were generated, and the inspiration that would become Dawurld.
To be clear this very much follows the typical idea of what a West March campaign embodies. The sessions certainly vary, though they will generally follow a trend of a series of sessions at regular days. The Pool of players changes, but there are certainly regular players throughout the stories. There is technically a regular plot, but the goal is more along the lines of unrelated short stories that fills out Dawurld in an organic way.
Not that serious campaigns aren't fun, but this setting intends to build larger-than-life heroes and fantastical tales. Dawurld is built on mad-libbed concepts and absurd world seeds, so it goes without saying that the people and stories in it are also going to be just as off the wall. With each new story we add another grandiose tale of heroes (or maybe one day villains) living their lives in the great world of Dawurld.
We are always looking for new ways to incorporate and test new tools. To improve immersion, assist Dungeon Masters in pregame planning, integration between, or general quality of life tools for campaigns. Some of our favorites include D&D Beyond, Ex-Novo, and roll20. As we fine new tools we'll test and incorporate these tools into Dawurld for regular use.
The world is mad-libbed, but it is also a collaborative effort as the players and the Dungeon Masters. This gives everyone a sense of ownership to Dawurld and a better understanding of what is going on there. The result is a more lived in world, with characters that feel more a part of the world.
To help progress Dawurld's lore we've been running short stories during Cautionary Time Share Tales' hiatus. We apologize for the pause in the main plot, but as soon as we return to it there will be more content from our main heroes. For now please enjoy the vast world of Dawurld as we explore with new characters and new cities yet to be explored by the main characters.
